Nonprofit Emergency Fund The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico Nonprofit Emergency Fund has been set up to assist nonprofits in time of great need due to a community need, natural disaster, and/or response to overwhelming loss of operational revenues. The fund will be managed and awarded through a volunteer committee.
Thank You Las Cruces Fund The Thank You Las Cruces Restaurant (TYLCR) Fund was established by anonymous donors in Las Cruces, NM. The fund will assist restaurants, in the City of Las Cruces, with a grant of $1,000. These funds will be used to support the restaurant in feeding at least 100 individuals and families in need of a meal. These meals can be dropped off at a designated location or be given to individuals through a curbside pickup. New donors to this fund will be able to nominate 3 of their favorite restaurants to potentially receive funding. The CFSNM Team, along with a committee of volunteers, will work with nominees to ensure meals can be provided to at least 100 people and that $1,000 would be of benefit to their restaurant due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Governor Richardson, Lopez, Olmos, Trejo COVID-19 Emergency Fund for the Southern Colonias of Doña Ana County Fund Consistent with the charitable purposes of the Foundation, distributions from the Fund will be used primarily to provide support for the Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico to support the Thriving Families Program and Community Action Agency clients in response to the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic. Funding will be specifically used to support federally designated Cololnias in southern New Mexico. There will be a focus in southwest New Mexico Dona Ana Counties. The designated funds will go to the Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico to support programming associated with Thriving Families and Covid-19 response.
Together Las Cruces The Together Las Cruces fund will support a grant to qualifying Doña Ana county residents who have been laid off or furloughed, or have experienced a significant loss of income as a result of the state’s executive order. Funds will be awarded in the amount of $100-$500, based on the applying individuals’ needs. Please donate today and we can get through this, Together Las Cruces!

Carol Ann Clark Dance Fund The Carol Ann Clark Dance Fund will support dance activities throughout the US with a priority given to projects benefiting residents of New Mexico. Activities must reach under-served populations and aim to increase participation in dance activities for the benefit of the community. Alexis Elle Scholarship The income of the fund is to provide scholarships to single mothers with financial need for New Mexico State University and/or Dona Ana Community College students. Scholarships will be awarded regardless of previous educational history and/or grade point average.
Anna-Marie Aldaz Scholarship The Anna-Marie Aldaz Scholarship assists the following student(s): Student(s) in which English is not their native language Student(s) within the Dona Ana Community College Student(s) studying English as a second language o Secondary preference for a student(s) studying English as a supplemental piece to their graduation and potential career success Student(s) has demonstrated financial need Students(s) potential performance improvement based on overall GPA and/or recommendation from English as a second language faculty member o Secondary preference recommendation from a general faculty member. Criteria chosen must be objective, non-discriminatory, and reasonably related to the purpose of the scholarship.
Barry McClure Memorial Scholarship Purpose of this fund is to award scholarship to students who meet the following criteria: 1.Be enrolled at NMSU main campus; 2.Must be an athlete in golf, track and field or a PGA Golf Management student; 3.Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA; 4.Complete a personal statement of the standard scholarship application through NMSUF ScholarDollar Program required by NMSU for all scholarship applicants.
Carol Troeller Second Chance Scholarship The Carol Troeller Second Chance Scholarship is set up in honor of Carol Troeller. It is to support students with emergency financial needs. Eligibility: • Student(s) attending Dona Ana Community College or New Mexico State University • Level of study can include Associates, Bachelor or Master Degrees • Preference for female student(s) • Preference for student(s) in business fields of study • Need based requirements with a preference to support students with emergency payments of tuition to assist with completion of a semester or graduation requirements Criteria chosen must be objective, non-discriminatory, and reasonably related to the purpose of the scholarship.
Catherine Joyce Webb Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to make awards to one or more students (undergraduate/graduate) attending NMSU Alamogordo Campus. Student mus have completed 24 credit hours; student must have a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5; student must be pursuing either a.) a degree in any of the Professional Occupations, Technologies, and Fine Arts (PROTECH) or b.) a degree in any of the Allied Health Science Programs. The Scholarship Commitee of NMSU-Alamogordo shall select the recipients annually.
Cloudcroft Community Group Scholarship The purpose of this scholarship is to award one or more eligible students scholarships based on the following criteria. 1.Student (s) must be (a.) a graduating senior from Cloudcroft High School or (b). reside in the Cloudcroft School District, and be a homeschooled senior 2.Student (s) must submit an essay (500-1000 word count) of financial need and interest in the receiving the scholarship 3.Student(s) must complete the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico scholarship application in entirety. Criteria chosen must be objective, non-discriminatory, and reasonably related to the purpose of the scholarship.
Covarrubias Family Foundation Fund This fund is set up to support the following scholarships- Jose Covarrubias Scholarship – Graduating senior from Hot Springs High School, planning to attend New Mexico State University. Myra Covarrubias Scholarship – Student, junior or senior status, attending New Mexico State University and majoring in Special Education.
David Diaz Music From the Heart Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for New Mexico Music Programs and/or Music Scholarships for both public and private school students.
Dr. Robert Palmer Luna County Scholarship The income of this fund will be used by the Community Foundation for the purposes of supporting grant making in Luna County in accordance with the Community Foundation Grants and Scholarships Committee. Scholarships will be awarded to students graduating in Luna County
From the Heart Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for nursing students at New Mexico State University.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund The Hispanic Scholarship Endowment supports Hispanic students graduating from high schools in southern New Mexico and attending either New Mexico State University or Dona Ana Community College.
Jon Wynne Endowment Fund
Acton Community Fund Distribution of this fund will be used to provide scholarships for students at Acton Academy in Las Cruces, NM. Funds will be distributed to qualified families based on objective assessment of financial need.
SNM Down Syndrome Families Scholarship To provide financial assistance via a scholarship to those persons with Down syndrome who want to pursue post-secondary studies/life skills training at approved educational institutions or organizations. There is no geographic restriction for the educational institution selected to continue their studies. The award recipients shall be determined by the following criteria: • Must be a resident of Doña Ana, Luna, Otero, or Sierra County • Must be pursuing post-secondary studies or life skills training at an approved educational institution • Must submit a letter of recommendation with application • Must submit a 250-word essay (assistance from teacher, guardian or parent allowed); or a video of the applicant describing future career goals and aspirations Fund can also be used for one person with Down syndrome and one parent/guardian to attend any conference that will better individuals with Down Syndrome and their families (examples are Buddy Walk on Washington in Washington, DC, NDSC National Convention, PEAK, ARC, Parents Reaching Out, etc.) Recipients are not limited to these options and can request approval to attend another conference from the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico with support from the Southern New Mexico Down Syndrome Families group. Approved conference reimbursements towards expenses such as round trip airfare, registration cost, hotel accommodations, and additional travel costs (food, ground transportation, etc.) Applicant agrees to show proof of purchase/receipts and submit a W-9 to receive reimbursement funds.
CFSNM Scholarship The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico General Scholarship Fund will allow the organization to fund potential students that have excellent applications yet do not receive any of our specified scholarships.
Bruce and Carole Coryell Endowment Fund The purpose of this fund is to support the SpringBoard! Scholarship Fund. SpringBoard! is a scholarship for women supporting women.
Las Cruces Optimist Clubs The scholarship will be awarded annually to one or more eligible applicants based on the appropriate earnings established by the Foundation each year. The total amount of scholarships awarded will not exceed the Fund’s distributable amount. Students who have graduated from a high school within the Las Cruces School District (including home school) Students who have demonstrated financial need (household income equal to or less than $50,000 a year)
